Project Illumination: Phase One has Begun! Bay Nordic Nordic Ski Club, Inc. (Bay Nordic) in collaboration with Brown County Parks Dept. announces the Phase 1 funding goals have been achieved and the construction of the 4km lighted loop will begin immediately.  The schedule is to have the lighting system installed prior to the upcoming 2015-2016-winter ski season. How exciting is that? Read all the details in the full press release: Click Here.

YMCA Ski Sale Fundraiser: Organizer Kevin Fermanich reports that more than $1,600 was collected during this past Saturday night and Sunday ski and snowboard waxing fundraiser at the Y Ski Sale. These funds will be used to purchase equipment and meet other needs in support of Bay Nordic youth and junior team ski programs.  This event was also a meaningful community outreach activity – informing the broader community about nordic skiing in the Green Bay area and the exciting Project Illumination initiative.  More than 38 Bay Nordic volunteers helped with organizing, setup, marketing, ski/board check-in/check-out, waxing, and clean-up.  A special word of thanks to Gary Kozloski for all his work coordinating our fundraiser with the YMCA and providing logistical support critical to making the event a success.  (Students: if you need a signature to verify community service hours, just bring your form to a Bay Nordic coach to get it signed.)  Thanks to all those who volunteered or had their skis waxed!

BN Youth (Ages 3-12) is now open, so sign-up and tell your friends!
Online registration for our Bay Nordic Youth program  for 2015-2016 is ready to go. Now is the time to get those friends and neighbors and random strangers to get their children involved in the great sport of nordic skiing.  We look forward to seeing all those smiling faces this year. Let us know if you have questions or problems, but otherwise, we’ll see you in December once you have registered!  Click Here to Register

Nordic Rocks Program needs Volunteers:  Last year was amazing and Glenbrook Elementary School has asked Bay Nordic to once again run this innovative learn to ski program.  Several volunteers will be needed and helping the kids is easy and rewarding. The school will be supplied with skis with step in bindings for kids to use during the school day.  Read about the program: Nordic Rocks  and contact Catherine Egelhoff at cathegelhoff@gmail.com if you are excited to volunteer and make this awesome program a success!

Thank you to all the many volunteers, skiers and families working together to help Bay Nordic change the landscape of Nordic Skiing in North Eastern Wisconsin!  Think Snow!!!  -Ryan Jennings, Editor
