Last November (2025) Bay Nordic’s board decided to look for an executive director. We are happy to announce that as of June 2026, Dean Rodeheaver began his updated role as Executive Director. Because Dean has been so heavily involved in supporting our Junior Race Team as well as the Youth program, it may not appear that much has changed. But he has been busy already, working on our long term strategy planning using skills from a long career in doing similar types of efforts for higher education clients of his company. Bay Nordic is facing many of the same headwinds that the sport of cross country skiing is facing around the world. Demographic changes, climate changes, changes in how people learn, in how volunteers are willing to spend their time. And of course, we want to ensure we have long term funding solutions needed to keep us strong for years to come.
Dean is well known in our part of the world, so say thank you and welcome when you get a chance!
