The Bay Nordic board seeks a dynamic Executive Director/Coordinator to support the club’s programs, strengthen community outreach, lead fundraising efforts, and guide the strategic development of the organization. This role will play a key part in enhancing the visibility and impact of Bay Nordic within the Northeast Wisconsin community.

Bay Area Nordic Ski Club, Inc. (hereafter, Bay Nordic) was created in 2010 primarily as an outdoor winter youth activity and development program. Led entirely by volunteers with cross-country ski equipment provided by cash and in-kind donations, the program eventually attracted hundreds of children to get outside, learn to ski, and, most important, have fun. As the kids grew, so did their interests – junior racing teams for middle and high school students were added. Those skiers have been very successful in the Wisconsin Nordic Ski League and have represented the Great Lakes Division in national races. In addition, Bay Nordic volunteers provide instruction, ski gatherings and social events for adults.

The growth and success of the combined programs is the result of volunteer hours and talents;  part-time paid oversight and coordination of activities is now desired. Greatest needs include both strategic planning and ensuring resources are allocated accordingly; shaping a compelling story to invite new participants, donors, and partners; overseeing how that narrative is presented in digital and print media; and working with the Board to create sustainability in numbers and finances.
